With immense pride and overwhelming joy, Gaurs International School celebrated Annual Day 8.0 – "Shakti: Celebrating Empowerment", a spectacular tribute to the strength, resilience, aspirations, and achievements of girls and women under the transformative vision of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Initiative.
Held amidst grandeur and enthusiasm at the MMGC Centre, the event brought together distinguished dignitaries, educators, parents, students, and members of the Gaurs family to witness an unforgettable evening dedicated to empowerment through education.
The celebration was graced by Padma Shri and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Awardee Dr. Deepa Malik, Board Member of the Asian Paralympic Committee, whose inspiring presence elevated the occasion. The event was also honoured by the esteemed presence of Shri B.L. Gaur, Founder – Gaurs Group; Mrs. Manju Gaur, Director – Gaurs Group of Schools; Mr. Sarthak Gaur and Mr. Vishesh Gaur, Directors – Gaurs Group; and Mrs. Rachna Babbar, Principal, Gaurs International School, along with eminent guests, educationists, social leaders, and well-wishers.
The evening commenced with the auspicious ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by a soul-stirring classical invocation to Goddess Durga, symbolizing the divine power and strength inherent in every woman. The audience was enthralled by a series of captivating performances that beautifully portrayed the journey of empowerment.
A special attraction of the event was the grand inauguration by "SHAKTI" – an innovative robot designed and developed by the students of Gaurs International School, which ceremoniously opened the celebration through a unique ribbon-cutting performed by swiping an entry card. This remarkable display of innovation and technological excellence reflected the creativity and futuristic vision of our young learners.
The programme featured "Udaan", a powerful theatrical presentation depicting the inspiring transformation of a BBBP girl through education, determination, and opportunity. A moving contemporary dance tribute dedicated to the extraordinary journey of Dr. Deepa Malik left the audience deeply inspired and emotionally moved.
Adding another dimension to the celebration was the unveiling of a magnificent Lotus Installation crafted entirely from e-waste, symbolizing transformation, sustainability, and growth. Guests also explored an impressive E-Waste Art Exhibition, where students showcased stunning creations including an India Map, Guitar, Electric Man, Monkey, Butterfly, Elephant, Seahorse, Lotus and several innovative utility models made from discarded electronic materials, demonstrating environmental responsibility and creative thinking.
The event further came alive through heartfelt testimonials by students and parents, inspiring poetry recitations, energetic sports demonstrations, and an engaging audio-visual presentation highlighting the remarkable impact of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative on countless lives.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Manju Gaur reaffirmed the institution's unwavering commitment towards empowering girls through quality education and creating pathways for meaningful change. One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the motivational address by Dr. Deepa Malik, whose journey of courage, perseverance, and excellence resonated deeply with every member of the audience. She encouraged students to dream beyond limitations and embrace every challenge as an opportunity to grow.
The celebration was further enriched by the felicitation of eminent educators, social leaders, and distinguished guests whose contributions continue to inspire positive change in society.
The grand finale witnessed the presentation of Academic Excellence Awards to outstanding achievers from Grades II to XII, recognizing their dedication, perseverance, and exceptional scholastic accomplishments.
Every performance, every achievement, and every moment of Annual Day 8.0 reflected the powerful message that education empowers, transforms, and uplifts. The event concluded on a note of pride, inspiration, and hope, reaffirming our collective belief in the limitless potential of every girl child.
